5 Essential Oils For Cold / Flu Season

5 favorite essential oils for cold and flu prevention + why they work:

  • Tea Tree Oil (Melaleuca alternifolia)
Contains terpinen-4-ol, a potent natural component for reducing germs
  • Lavender Oil (Lavandula angustifolia)
Rich in nourishing linalyl acetate, shown to calm stress and inflammation
  • Eucalyptus Oil (Eucalyptus radiata)
Famous for high quantities of 1,8-cineole, which can help clear congestion
  • Frankincense Oil (Boswellia carterii)
High in ɑ-pinene, known to reduce germs and soothe inflammation
  • Green Mandarin Oil (Citrus reticulata)
Full of d-limonene, proven to support immunity and reduce germs

While these aren’t the only oils you can use to support your immune system / overall health during cold & flu season, but they are a great place to start.

Fun Halloween Trick / Decoration

A fun way to use your essential oil diffuser is to use it plus a bowl or pot to make it look like a “smoking cauldron” that’s brewing something spooky!

All you need is:

  • an essential oil diffuser
  • a bowl / pot or something that looks like a witch’s cauldron

It’s fairly easy to do, all you have to do is place the essential oil diffuser into the pot/bowl and turn on the diffuser (filled up with water, or even add your favourite spooky diffuser blend.) and let the cauldron brewing begin!

One of my favourite diffuser blends for this time of the year is:

  • 2 drops of orange
  • 2 drops of clove
  • 2 drops of cinnamon
  • 1 drop of franincense

I hope everyone has a safe and fun Halloween this weekend!
